He has worked with families, traditional and same-sex couples, children and adolescents in a variety of residential and outpatient settings. Prior to licensure he completed an eighteen-month post-graduate internship and worked for an additional four years in a community mental health agency serving children, youth, families, and couples. Steven's experience also includes four years working for the State of Washington's Division of Licensed Resources as a Child Protective Services Investigator.

In addition to Steven's work as a counselor, he has also worked in multiple business and educational arenas as a consultant focusing on maximizing positive strengths which already exist within individuals and systems.  Steven has also spent more than ten years of his career teaching in higher at both the undergraduate and graduate level.  In his work as an educator he has taught more than 500 K-12 educators in currently teaching in the Puget Sound region.
